La Fortuna is a washed Bourbon coffee produced by Olmedo Lalangui Chinchay in the Icamanche sector of the San Jose De Lourdes District in the Cajamarca Region of Peru. The coffee is grown at altitudes between 1850 and 1900 meters above sea level in sandy loam and clay soil. Olmedo, with a background in Forest Engineering and experience in technical support at Norcafe Peru, returned to farming to focus on high-quality coffee production. His vision is to expand with 3 hectares of Geisha coffee by 2025 and establish demonstration farms for washed and natural processes.

Red Bourbon is a classic coffee varietal known for its rich sweetness, medium acidity, and smooth body. It offers flavour notes of red berries, caramel, and chocolate, with a well-rounded balance. Ideal for both espresso and filter brewing, it typically produces a comforting, sweet cup with a lingering, velvety finish.

Washed

During the wash method, the outer skin and pulp of the coffee cherry is removed through depulping, leaving behind the mucilage-covered beans. The beans are then fermented to remove the mucilage before being washed and dried.
