MEET THE PRODUCER

Finca Las Alasitas

COUNTRY: Bolivia

REGION: Caranavi

Caranavi is known as the epicentre of Bolivia’s specialty coffee production, thanks to its high altitudes, rich soils, and broad temperature swings – conditions that nurture slow cherry development and exceptional cup complexity. Finca Las Alasitas was established by Pedro Rodríguez and his family in the region, helping shape the future of specialty coffee in the country. Named after a local festival celebrating dreams and wishes, the farm uses innovative approaches like the Coco Natural process to create coffees with exceptional sweetness and aromatic depth.

Caturra (Arabica Bourbon)

Caturra is a natural mutation of the Arabica Bourbon coffee plant, characterised by its short stature and high yield. Originating in Brazil and thriving at higher altitudes, it produces a balanced cup with bright acidity and complex flavours.

Coco Natural

The Coco Natural process extends beyond a standard natural by removing the cherry’s outer skin while retaining the mucilage (“coco”) around the seed during drying. This creates a slower, controlled fermentation, intensifying sweetness, tropical fruit and floral complexity.
