Masha Coffee Washing Station processes beans from over 3,200 small-holder farmers in Kayanza, where each farmer tends just 297 trees on 0.11 hectares of land. Known for its rich history and cattle traditions, the station is named after the sub-hill Masha, which means "herds of cattle" in Kirundi. The coffee produced here is exceptional, with vibrant fig jam, floral notes, and a sparkling citrus quality.

Red Bourbon is a classic coffee varietal known for its rich sweetness, medium acidity, and smooth body. It offers flavour notes of red berries, caramel, and chocolate, with a well-rounded balance. Ideal for both espresso and filter brewing, it produces a comforting, sweet cup with a lingering, velvety finish.

PROCESS

Washed

During the wash method, the outer skin and pulp of the coffee cherry is removed through depulping, leaving behind the mucilage-covered beans. The beans are then fermented to remove the mucilage before being washed and dried.
