MEET THE PRODUCER:

Gesha Village

COUNTRY: ETHIOPIA

REGION: GESHA VILLAGE ESTATE

Founded by Rachel Samuel and Adam Overton, the estate was established after their search for the origins of Gesha coffee led them to southwest Ethiopia. Alongside producing distinctive coffees, they protect the surrounding indigenous forest, preserving the landscape where this remarkable variety began.

Gesha 1931

Gesha 1931 is a rare Ethiopian selection from the south-eastern forests, chosen for its close resemblance to the famed Panamanian Geisha. Grown at Gesha Village, it is prized for intensely floral, tea-like aromatics and elegant fruit notes – jasmine, rose, peach and citrus – while its limited, carefully selected production makes it exceptionally scarce.

Natural

During the natural or dry method, the entire coffee cherry is dried with the beans inside, allowing the fruit to naturally ferment and impart flavour to the beans. Once dried, the outer layers of the cherry are removed, revealing the green coffee beans.
